Petition to the Capitol
April 10, 2017
Last week I had the privilege of going to the state capitol in Columbia with Ed and Tammy Dalsing. Their goal: to take their petition, signed by 10,000 people from across the globe, urging our governor to act on behalf of their adopted daughter, Braelynn, whose adopted was vacated on by the South Carolina Court of Appeal on December 15, 2016. As a parent, it is difficult to imagine being placed in a position of needing to garner the support of the public so you can continue to parent your child. Every day….waking up to uncertainty…living in a perpetual state of brainstorming on what you can do to help secure the future of your child. Walking a tightrope of remaining hopeful, while at the same time….acknowledging the dark dreaded possibility of losing your child to someone she has never met.
WBTV News in Charlotte, NC has been following this case and tagged along with Ed and Tammy’s trip to Columbia. You can watch the coverage here. http://www.wbtv.com/story/35069502/10000-signatures-delivered-to-sc-legislature-to-keep-child-with-adoptive-parents
